We're engaged!
Josh took me to Latta Plantation this morning for a relaxing day. We drove into the beautiful nature preserve and parked at one of the hiking trails. Josh asked me to get my camera and take it with us to get some scenic pictures. He took me, not far into the wooded area, where the trail split and curved down to dead end at a breath-taking view that overlooked the Mountain Island Lake. I took out my camera and set-up the tripod to start taking pictures. I set it on a timer to get one of Josh and I with the lake in the back-ground. As I went to take the tripod down, Josh coaxed me into taking one more picture of us. As the "beeps" got faster (signifying the shutter was about to go off) I felt him go to the ground. Thinking he had fallen, I tried grabbing his arm to help pull him up. My pull was met with tremendous resistance and when I looked down at him I noticed that he was on one knee looking up at me with my hands in his. Tears started to fill my eyes as I realized what he was doing. He asked me to be his wife! I told him no, of course, but then he pulled out the ring and I was excited to accept his proposal!
